Wedding etiquette used to say that you should never wear black, red or white, but while white remains pretty much out of bounds, the increased informality in weddings means that there's a wider range to choose from than ever before.

The style and setting of the wedding will doubtless dictate the style of the outfit you go for. Indeed some couples offer a suggestion for colours with the invitations so the photos look extra special.

Bridesmaids' dresses and the rest of the wedding party should complement the bride perfectly. It used to be that the bride's mother had first pick but, as with everything in a 21st century wedding, that convention is up for grabs.
